Would sound great with the crap music I play.

She'd probably tell me to pack my bags and go and live IN them on my own...

Then again, our living room is currently accomodating four NS1000M so I can't complain too much.

Come to think of it, we're not actually married so all the above is technically incorrect. :)

From what I can see on the web, they only cost €23k (not sure if that is each or for the pair though)

Having not heard them I've only got the looks to go on and to that I say hmmn, its pretty damn ugly but big boxes are tough to make presentable so I guess its not so bad considering..

I hope these don't sound as 'wooden' as the rest of the JBL's I've heard. Always nice bass and treble but the mids are hollow and upfront, guess its a JBL trademark.

"darling, you finally listened to me and bought a smaller pair of speakers"

    (if I was married)

...well, actually I think they are a little wider, but they're quite narrow, aren't they?

I don't think they'd intrude that badly.. not rear ported and quite narrow - their footprint would be less intrusive than some quads

Here's another photo of the JBL's to put their size into perspective (I like that dude's hat and mustache):
