My name is Ladislaus Wolfgang Maria von Hochberg zu Götteborg Graff von Hella. Hence RdS.

    Not!

RdS are just my initials (I have some more names, but those are the ones I actually use) and it seemed quite appropriate for a HiFi forum...

No, but he will explain it himself.

"Wadiameister" is actually Wadiamiester. But his true name is Wadiamonster, and this is his smilie: :pRaT:

He used to call himself BigTone, but it was often confused with 'Tones' - when he was 'Still Tones' - and he changed it when he migrated from HifiChoice to Groovehandle.

The progression of the avatars is very interesting, too. Big Tones used to be an ugly fellow (quite right, too :D ) , Still Tones was Ringo, GrahamN was a little and funny warrior and GTM (long time no read) was something I never could make out!

And there are lots of others.

Mad in what sense, angry or crazy? :)

...because it also stands for a hi-fi related acronym in the context of radio tuners: Radio Data System? :)

MO is a nickname I was given in school. An English lesson no less! I may still have the bit of paper with random scribbles on it, which the name was created on! They're two letters from my sur-name.

Occasionaly it's Big MO, and my younger brother is "little mo".

I get called it less and less these days, and it's a name MOre associated with my brother (thief!!!). All the people who know me through my girlfriend know me as MO though. I think it took about 3 years for her parents to realise it wasn't my real name!

As for the avatar...... I like MOnkeys and probably look quite like one :D

Sid or Sijd or s1d is the name given to the alcohol / hooch/ moonshine , call it what you will, brewed, distilled, and drunk, mostly by ex-pats, in Saudi Arabia. The name is said to come from the Arabic phrase sidique , which means friend.
It tastes just like Bicardi 151. It is also very pure, no additives or nasty chemicals leaching out of barrels over 10's of years to taint it. Which means you can drink loads of it and still feel like shit in the morning, but with no headache- bargain.

Sid and Coke is simply my most favorite alcoholic drink in the whole wide world, with ice please :p

Mine was given to me by an old Japanese girlfriend of me.
When she explained what it meant I thought it was so funny that I use it as my nickname on most forums I frequent.

Still, then I got married, after which it's probably a little inappropriate...

For details, do a search using google and see what you come up with, then you'd understand why I've not posted a more detailed explanation.

Mine's just my names (I'm not telling you what the "F" stands for! - J stands for Joeseph (I was confirmed so chose that name - and the intentional mis-spelling, just to be different).

The avatar - well, I'm normally hyperactive like Sonic, and walk almost like he runs, and when I'm not full on I'm blue, so there you go.

RDS - I did wander if you'd gone for Radio Data System :)

"Tones" or "Tone" is what I'm often called instead of "Tony", and it seemed appropriate to a hi-fi forum. The implication of "Tones deaf" came later with my rising scepticism of hi-fi tweakery born of a scientific background and an inability to hear other people's jaw-dropping differences.

    Re: Re: What's in a name ?

I was? I'm still Crocodile Dundee over there! The Still Tones came about because of one of HFC's recurring collapses, when I found that I couldn't re-register as "Tones", because I was still there, but couldn't get it! So, as I was still Tones, I became Still Tones.

The same thing happened to poor Davewhit several times, so he has had several Davewhit aliases.

I can't tell whether you're asking what "bukake" is or whether you're making a clever pun on its meaning...

If the former is the case then do a google search and you'll soon get the picture :MILD: Fairly gross if you ask me. Goes without saying that the forum can do without detailed descriptions ;)

Stumblin is shortened from stumblinthrulife which is what I felt like I was doing many years ago when I first chose it as a chat room id.

Alas, this sofware won't let me have stumblinthrulife as a name, so it became stumblin. That and the fact that everyone just called me stumblin anyway!

Techno because I like techno, and bear because I am one (ask a gay friend what it means ;) )

Edited to add: I'm assuming you all have gay friends. Everybody should have at least one
