I have many (I could have said "some of my best friends are gay" :D ) but without asking any of them I'm guessing that bear refers to a particularly hirsute region of your body ;)

I suppose you all think I am dull

    Chaps

In real life everyone addresses me as Mr Parry.

I do not know why, they just do.

    Regards

Maybe if you stopped tying them up and spanking them, they'd just call you Mick, or just Big M, for old times sake.

Correct! Bears are gay men of the 'hairy' persuasion. Those poor devils without hairy chests are often referred to as 'twinks' :D Glad I'm not one of those

Ah, Monster, my friend, I thought the Miester (instead of Meister) was an ironic way of reminding people of hwo yuo usde too splel in teh oldl HiFiuChhoic dyas. :D

I know Black Adder well, but I don't remember the episode you mention. Another good excuse to buy the series!

Re: Re: Re: What's in a name ?

Hi, Tones. Was it Crocodile Dundee?? I thought it was Ringo. Well, I like Crocodile Dundee better.

I though Still Tones was a way of conveying a 'tubular bells' like ring to your name! I mean, real still tones!!! But perhaps you meant to be ambiguous (polysemic, I think is the correct word)?

Used to spell? The WM word scrambler is till alive and well :D

Tony, you're being upstaged by a non-native speaker (RdS) now, admittedly one that writes English better than most of us

But surely I can't be the only one to notice the irony that WM then goes and mis-spells the deliberate 'alternative' spelling three times in his post - I wonder how many edits that took to get right :D

(And I was just too boring to think of a witty handle when I signed up to hfc 2 years ago, and couldn't be bothered to change it to anything less suitable - such as Mr Motorhead - later)

Well, Tony's spelling is just very creatively free; and it is getting clearer...

I only pretend to write well. In fact I am a lousy writer - I have to edit my posts a lot of times. :embarrassed:

well, Rory's my name. Yes, really.

and rozzar (which is on TA, HFC, AVF, Astra-sport etc) is an abbreviated version of 'revvin rozzar', a nickname from the schoolyard days. Nothing at all to do with policemen. Honest . :)

    Hi

Too be truthful, The SCI stands for Science & the DB are the initials of my name. I work in the School of Science & Maths in a University & this has been my logging in name.

    The D stands for Dean.

Ah Joel-san, might you be referring to my incorrect spelling of the "transliterated" word? I believe it should be bukakke (with 2 Ks) - Google will reveal all :D

To be a bit less subtle than penance, we're talking about a "string of pearls" from mutliple "donors" ;)

    Domo domo

So you're talking pearls rather than to stick: kaki (n) rather than kakeru (v. trans). The bu still defeats me though. Must be an obscure kun reading. On second thoughts, it could possibly be the "gu" element from Kumo or "cloud" but that makes no sense to me. Cloud pearl??? Bah.
