For BWV 552 fugue, go to the 1:13:45 mark.

Hello Grothendieck I am just curious to know who are your favourite conductors, or maybe who are your favourite conductors doing particular piece of music to a particular composer?

For some strange reason I like Klaus Tennstedt when he used to conduct some of Wagners music particularly Siegfried's Funeral March, very moving....

With Riccardo Chailly I always know that the music will be well recorded, so he must have some influence in the recordings, perhaps a rub off from Karajan's influence..?

    Hi Romulus

I enjoy Helmuth Rilling's recording of the opening Kyrie and Crucifixus from Bach's Mass in B minor. Rilling has a number of recordings. This is the one that I have.

For the opening chorus of Bach's St. Matthew Passion these are two of the recordings that I like.

(Rilling has more than one recording of the St. Matthew Passion. This is the first.)

Thanks for suggesting Siegfried's Funeral March. I hadn't heard that. I've enjoyed listening to the Klaus Tennstedt recording.

Cristina GarcĂa Banegas - BWV 552 (at the Gloger organ in Kongsberg church Norway, Scandinavia's largest baroque organ)

Laudantes Consort/Guy Janssens - Introitus from Lassus' Requiem for 5 voices from the cd set entitled Golden Age of European Polyphony (This is a different recording of this piece than the one that appears on the Laudantes Consort's cd History of the Requiem Vol. 1. I prefer this recording from the Golden Age of European Polyphony set because I can better hear the polyphony. The different vocal timbres really come through.)

This is so atmospheric, spiritual and even cathartic.

This is C.P.E. Bach which I think is the most engaging out of J.S. Bach's sons.
