Here's a weirdy with Richers with MiniDisc recorder pricing. I noticed they've bumped up the RRP on the item too:

Bear in mind that the item has an RRP of £130 - I know this, as I paid full price for mine last year. So, selling it for £20 more than the old RRP and upping the RRP by £40 seems a bit suspect!

I'm a bit shocked at Richers - although I've not bought much kit there, the stuff I have bought has always been at a decent discount and worked without any problems.

They some times have open box bargains but in my opinion the place is going down hill. The Stockport Branch had a Marantz PM6010 KI for £120 on box, very cheap I thought, so had a look at it and discovered the back was the same as my OSE. I pointed this out to the sales person and he said it was indeed an OSE but with a KI badge on it.

It seemed a bit dodgy even though to their credit it was being sold as the OSE model.

sounds a bit suspect tbh, i been in the store in brighton a few times but never made a purchase.

ps. isnt it illegal to relabel somthing an try and sell it on?

I think a well wrote letter to the right people would give them some crap.which will probably see the end of cheap deals or the end of richer

In this case no because although it had a KI badge Richer Sounds did not claim it was a KI, they were selling it as an OSE. If however they were claiming it was a KI then it would have been ilegal.

The easiest way to differenciate Ki form normal models is the back panel. Ki's have an all copper back plate. Also, if u can open the lid, check for toroids. Even the cd6000Ki has 1 :D
