I am not sure about ours yet. We might put some winter decorations up today though.

I would call it Christmas but I don't want to offend people and I might get arrested for religious hatred or somthing if I use the term Christmas.

I might even get some Spring eggs next year :)

Good for you, I wanted to put a real tree in the front garden but my mum is only willing to spend £10 on it and I have no money to make up for the difference.

We had to pull the tree down when he had the decorators to paint the outside of the house, the last few years we put white lights on it and it looked lovely.

I think most people have realised that my first post was an attempt of sarcasim due to the policaly correct world we live in that tries to ban Christmas.

I just wish we could get a cheap christmas tree from where, my dad won't put a tree in the car because it ruins it, erm its a 10 year old Escort how much damage can a few pine needles really do? Knock 20p of its value?

In which case Andover is taking its full share.

If I get my way this year there will not be a tree.

This house won't be having any decorations put up... why waste good money buying tree and decorations when you could have far more enjoyment out of it down the pub?

will be getting a nine footer next week (actually it's six foot but I have to maintain the proportional lie to my wife... :D ) - I tend to fiind keeping one up at a convincing angle for any longer than two weeks before Xmas is a strain these days..

as an atheist I absolutely defend my right to celebrate Christmas.
I loathe the mealy mouthed corporate greetings cards people now send saying 'Happy holidays'. I mean really, whoever heard of someone actually celebrating Kwanza for Chrissakes!

Yeah, and I bet it's the owners of these blinged up houses that want a white christmas. With all the extra amperage/wattage their tacky sh** draws, the extra global warming will prevent any snow falling anyway :)

A couple of the houses around here are trully hideously decorated.

I'm thinking of getting it up this Friday ;)

Time once again to polish my baubles and admire the way they dangle :D

I need to find a fairy to surmount my proud erection (the angel I got last year was too heavy - fat b!tch  ).

Never could figure this out. Do you people actually like to believe in God or not. One moment most of you claimed you have give up all form of religion since it is the source of all evil. Then all of a sudden everyone like to keep Christmas as a religious event. :rds2:

Who said anything about keeping it as a relgious event? It's the Winter Solstice as far as I'm concerned. The christians tried to ban this pagan festival back in the 5th century but when they realised the people were having none of that they simply adopted it into the christian calendar, moved it two or three days and called it Christmas.

As for the Christmas tree itself - this has nothing to do with christianity - in fact they saw it as false worship - it's another pagan legacy as is mistletoe but once again those crafty christians brought them into the Christmas celebration.
