When are you putting up your winter tree?

    Who said that... Christmas is all about decorations, presents, trees, turkey, booze, comfy TV, jingly music and non-existent snow. Perfectly enjoyable on those terms without introducing the supernatural into it.

    Religion? Wassat then? :confused:

    We celebrate every other pagan festival here in Glastonbury. I don't see why we should make an exception for the midwinter solstice just because the christians gave it a silly name :D

    The midwinter festival is all about brightening the cold dark days of winter with good cheer, plenty of feasting, gaiety and jolity all around. The christmas trees and the decorations make it feel like a special time and cheer us all up.

    Good lets hope this forum stop pretending to mourn this country have gone all crazy to be politically correct as we tries to ban all trace of Christian festivals because we have stop celebrating them long ago anyway. It is also hypocritical since it is what most of us who wanted to do knowingly not for the sake of some minority religious group sensitivity.
