Indeed, London is quite unique in being a slum with a large and beautiful back garden.

Thank goodness that back garden is bountiful enough that most of us never have to go near the slum itself :)

Brighton in the south, via the middle bit of the UK for uni and back to London for work, now happily installed in the west coast of Sweden and not missing London in the slightest!

As a Scot I a definitley think another category is required. We are not Northeners.
As an Edinburgher I think Glaswegians need a seperate category too. :D
Scotland probably needs East, West and Glasgow categories.

Born in Kingston upon Hull (I think it's up North somewhere :D ) but didn't live there for long, my parents (father English, mother German) moved to Nigeria when I was about 2. Since then lived in Nigeria, Turkey, Germany, Iran, France, USA and now Portugal with a few interludes in the UK for boarding school (Essex), Uni (Bristol) and work (London). Now happily settled in Portugal and have no plans or desires to move anywhere else. I voted "thong wearing continental type" allthough I don't actually own a thong :) .

It's very interesting as there is aproximately a 2:1 southern bias, that ratio has been maintained throughout.
I'm going to suggest three hypothesis as a result of the poll
    1. That southerners are wealthier than northerners and have therefore spent more on hi-fi
    2. They like bragging about it
    3. The fact that continental types wear thongs is actually a stereotype, possibly promulgated by Jonathan Ross

I bet on one side they're tiger print, on the other plain brown. It helps to hide skid marks, and means you can get two days from one pair. We all know what soap swervers the people from across the channel are :D

Born in Glasgow. MOved to North Yorkshire then several places around Germany. Back to the UK via Bath, then back up to North York's. Been living in South Wales (a little outside Newport), for the last 10+ years, but spent much of 2000-2004 in East London/Essex.

I'd like to state that the one animal print thong I own has never been worn and was given to me as a joke present!

    Honest guv'

While I've got your attention... any idea which station The Fleece is closest to? Parkway or Temple Meads?
