    Hiya!

Thought I might throw this open to everybody, since I need a new telly... and am looking to spend as little as humanly possible!

    Looking for..

    1) Inclusive freeview
    2) teletext
    3) remote
    4) sound and picture that doesnt suck
    5) 28" min
    6) scart socket and audio inputs

dont care what the make is, beyond the above...

    Where would you look?

NB dont care if its LCD plasma (I wish) or more likely conventional box. Max budget is about £250.

Just hoping for a few more places to look that will be cheap..

    Ta!!
    Chris

That's even better! and has Freeview. What more do you want? Just get that wallet out:).

I actually meant the Tesco Extra stores, not the Internet site (which was just an example). They sometimes have a clearance.

P.S. if the Panasonic in your link is used, why does the prize exclude VAT?

Got to wait a week or 2 for moneys to clear, which is giving me time to shop about :)

I'll check the local tesco extra shop.

I've never heard of this 'Beko' brand that is everywhere cheap. Its probably crappo at the money they go for.

Beko TVs are actually based on the same TV chassis that Bush, Alba and now Grundig are based on, so they make reasonable budget TV sets. They are all manufactured by Beko themselves in the same factory in Turkey. Beko also make decent whiteware - i.e. fridges etc. as well IIRC.

Slightly off topic but I saw the Alba place some where in the Midlands. What do Alba/Bush actually do? Do they just get factories to make all the stuff for them?

Has Bush always been a budget make? I know they made those classic radios in the 50's.
