Just as it says on the tin, what do the team think with a price up to £150ish? I have an old pair of Beyer Dynamics (vintage) that will be pressed into service.

    Many thanks.

    Happy listening,

For £150 the Rega Ear is probably the best candidate. If you can stretch it (and its worth it) then the Gilmore Lite from www.headamp.com is a good bet - but you'd have to be patient ;)

i run Paul's old Rega Ear. Not bad for fairly entry-level Sennheiser HD565 Ovations or Sony MDRCD780s.

Very nice is the Creek OBH21.

After careful consideration I'm selling my Beyer 531's and Creek OBH21.

The sound is fantastic, but I just dont use phones!

The Creek has two inputs for different gains, and has an output aswell as input on the back, so it can be used as part of a tape loop if you also want to use a tape deck for example in the loop.

Sound is first rate, and I was using them with Beyers too!.

RRP £150, sell for £80 plus p&P £5. Boxed, condition is immaculate, like new.

The Beyers I have are superb (ask PBirkett, he thinks they are the best 'phones in their price bracket bar none, and he's tried them all! :) ) If you're looking for phones aswell let me know. They'd be about £40, but could share the p&p.

All in all, getting both off me would be cheaper than a rega ear, and you'd have a better setup IMO.

    Cheers!
    Chris

Yep those Beyers certainly are very nice for the money, exceptionally comfy too.
