    TonyL, you are wrong!!

    IMHO.

Whilst there is a lot of mention of Naim, there is a lot more about allsorts...and a lot of it s/h or DIY. And a lot about music. ALL my kit is now s/h or DIY'd with the exception of the tuner....which I might as well sell 'cos I never listen to it...
It is probably the most informative & useful site (hi-fi related) I have ever visited.

    Errr...I mean...along with ZG of course... :D

Tee hee - it's good to know there are more of us that don't like bouncy decks then :) That said, I *am* a Naimie of sorts now (but don't worry, I'm not THAT bad!). Never heard Mana, and I'm not sure what to make of ATC (based on SCM-50As) - reckon with a better CD source in front of them, they'd have sung (they were ace on vinyl!).

Pink Fish is cool - it's always fun to wind up an LP12 lover (sorry Tones!!!).

I'm with you on the stands/recreation thing, Ants ;)

The Devil - you mightn't like New Order, but what's your stance on Joy Division???

Pretty similar. I couldn't see the point of JD, either.

If it wasn't for that band (both JD/NO) modern music would sound very different, bands like The Killers, Futureheads, Bloc Party, U2, Pet Shop Boys, Chemical Brothers, Chille Pepppers et al don't site them as a major influence for nothing :)

I know that taste is a matter of opinion though. A lot of JD stuff is very incostistant but that is becuase they were not around for a long time, there studio stuff was very consistant and well produced.

Aye could never get on with them either, especially the drudge-fest that is the 12" of Blue Monday.
And I'll hear nowt said against Joy Division - I bought the Sordide Sentimental 7" "Licht und Blindheit... Sold it later for enough to have a nice holiday in Paris.
Bit miserable though, and how could so-called musicians think that Peter Hook is an inspiring bass-player

It seems from all accounts that I may have been unfair in maligning the entire forum. Probably should have been more accurately titled

Why is Bub So Scary and Disfunctional?

But now you've all pretty much persuaded me that he can be encouraged, laughed at or ignored (to suit), I shan't worry. Is there a special club for those he considers to be deaf? .... and how does one join?

Bub's a pussycat. When spats break out in the threads he's involved in, 9 times out of 10 it's other people losing their rag, not Bub. We had a similar experience here a while ago.

The only chemical that I think would help New Order sound acceptable are Potassium Cyanide. It's quick enough that you wouldn't have to listen to much!

Make it hydrogen cyanide, Leonard, and then the KCN doesn't even have to hydrolyse.

More hassle perhaps, being a gas, but definitely quicker.
I spose speed is of the essence when trying to escape New Order!
Surely there's a quicker and simpler way?
    Guillotine perhaps?
