I think the forum has alowed down throughout lately. Will no doubt pick up again when the sun goes back into hiding.

I don't see you posting much on here btw Mr Phabb.

The ratio of music to boxes posts on here is pretty good considering it's a hifi forum MOre than a music one.

Both sides of the argument have a point. I find it harder to write about music than hifi, for whatever reason. its hard trying to explain why you like what you like musicwise....

Music is more about art and is very personal. Its not very often that technical and artistic people get on. With HIFI its very technical even when just quoting model numbers and stuff, then to remember each model and the differences of by hand, a lot of people can't do that. Similary a lot of people can't talk about music in artistic way (I can't do that)

I can talk about music as bass, midrange, treble, the frequency, etc but I can't annaylise the lyrics and put into words what the song is about, (well I can but not to a good standard)

I think I am talking out of my head here, so I hope it makes some sense.

So why do you feel the need to comment on people not posting much music posts when you yourself don't either?

    What sorta music you into?

AT don't worry about not being able to post "to a good standard". I you've something to say, say it.

I'm with you in a way Bill, quite a few people give the impression that they're MOre interested in the boxes than the discs, (though they're quick to point that's not the case ;) ). However, I've probably posted as much on music than on hifi, so I gain complaining rights! Well, in my head I do at least :D

    Cheers

MO (currently listening to DnB net radio station btw "Baaaaaaaaad maaaaaannnnnnnnnn")

My excuse is attending 32 concerts in the last 42 days (and probably about 14 more in the next 16) - and I'm sticking to it!

Jansons/Pittsburg and Rattle?Berlin for the next 4 days   :boogie: :notworthy :notworthy

I agree with that - find it harder to write about music aswell.

If you;re like me and work mainly at home apart from when doing leaflets, during the holidays I have had nothing much do apart from work 4 hours a day, and then do my web stuff so I am nothing to do for entertainment other than listening to music.

I am spend around 4 hours at least probably more than listening to music. I spend about half an our a day if not less talking about HIFI or tweaking.

HIFI is a lot less personal than music.

It appears that yesterday's was my 100th in 2003 (if I don't count a few free organ recitals I didn't have tickets from) - so 101 now (tonight's was a pretty special one, and tomorrow should be even better).

And 178 since mid-July last year.

My god Graham, its turning into something of an obsession, dont you think:)

As you are never home, you must never get a chance to listen to your hifi. I'll look after the Wadia for you in your absence:D

You could have a point - I must stop and start doing something more useful, like posting on message boards ;) Life may return to something more normal after 13th Sept, although I'm currently looking through the brochures for next years season - and trying to ration myself to no more than 2 a week, but that's really tough!

Thanks for the kind offer, although I did manage to spin some rather fun Copland (Rodeo and Billy the Kid) and Respighi (Pines of Rome) this morning. Just to check that it still worked (and that the neighbours were awake) don'cha know!
