    Glad know that Joel.:D

Different opinions (bollocks or no bollocks), no matter how unpopular they may be are what make forums interesting and in some cases, vibrant places to hang out. As I once said, if all football supporters supported just one or the same team, what would be the point in attending football matches? ;)

What I don't get though is why, whenever I make a comment, it is regarded as an attack rather than an opinion. I thought that variety was the spice of life? I am not the worst poster hanging around these forums yet I seem to get the most knives or darts thrown at me.:D:D Even dartboards have less holes in them than I do.:D Actually, I am surprised that I can still post this as I thought that I had been banned or maybe not just yet.;)

    Enjoy the music,

    Lawrie.:D

I'll accept that I've been a bit lax with moderation recently due to other commitments and that has certainly allowed arguments to go beyond their sell by date and become ugly. There was also a period when the arguments weren't as frequent, therefore requiring less intervention....

Lawrie, I think the problem is your use of smilies. The way you use smilies makes me angry  without even reading what you have to say. :D

Maybe use less smilies in future?

    :) etc. etc.

So that's what this is all about? Smilies! Smilies?? Now you tell me!

I bet you though, that even if I don't use smilies in my posts, the darts will still be jostling for space on that dartboard.

P.S. I hope that the smilie next to my name does not offend also. It is a part of my signature but I will be happy to remove it at the request of the Moderators.

    Enjoy the music,

Or else use 'better' smilies. ;) and :D are bad. They are just not good smilies.

 is a good smilie. Why not use this for your signature? I think it would be much nicer. Look:

    Cookie,

I do. You should try it sometime as you will enjoy it.:MILD: If you want to know more about the various clubs around, then send me a PM as there might be one right up your street.

Notaclue - your posts here and at the other place do make me smile. It's a shame though that mine have the reverse effect on you.;)

i have to ask how does one term a NEWBIE ,

    1. is it amount of post if so thats total bxllxx, how can anyone judge a persons experience by volume of post.please explain.

    2.is it determined by age

3.is it determined by equipment owned

    4.is whatever

by the way im 39 years old have been a enthusiast since my teens ,i have built valve amps,i worked in retail for a number of years ,i understand what most enthusiast talk about but ive only 16 posts to my name on here so am i a newbie?.

ps i cant see anything wrong with ZEROGAIN as a forum its informative and a good place some constructive answers.

Couldn't agree more, smilies are very annoying indeed. OK, so I've used them .. occasionally.

How about the mods switch 'em off for a couple of weeks to see how we all cope without?

Or enable a "view no smilies" option in the control panel? You can switch off avatars and signatures...

Completely disagree about smilies :D. It is very difficult to portray an accent in writing. Smilies help a great deal. They help to differentiate lighted-hearted remarks from genuine sarcasm, annoyance etc.

Often 'newbies' come on and define themselves. You're clearly an 'oldbie and wisebie', amdworld. It would be nice to hear from you more often.

AMDWORLD I think we were refereing to 2 different types of newbie, either one who is new to the forum and also one who is new to hifi, you can be both, however your experience will soon become apparent by the content of your posts, HFC seem to have a higher level of people new to Hifi, this usually comes across, as they believe the hype about the latest se version beating the pants off the old 5* model, and think that if they invest in this new model they will gain a huge improvement, I hardly think you firt into that category.

Maybe we should state our experience on the my kit page,

Hello My name is AK and I've been afflicted now for.........
