Windows Vista Tuning Tips for audio processing

    Some of the tools mentioned in the article may prove useful.

    I've thought for a while that my HiFace sounds better when connected to my PC than when connected to my laptop. The DPC Latency Checker shows that the PC has much lower latency. Running LatencyMon on the laptop showed me that it is the ACPI battery device that is the spanner in the works.

    Hmm. I don't see how latency would affect your sound quality. Latency is an issue when you are recording because it's a delay between say the guitar you are recording and the sound you hear. So you try to reduce it as much as possible. All different pc's and sound cards will have different values.
