wish I was in Japan :(

the international postage of £12 makes this a bit steep for the UK..
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SMASHING-PUMP...goryZ306QQssPageNameZWD2VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

It got me to thinking, why dont we start a ''vinyl wish list'' of things that you wish you had??

One of us will see it at some point, and before you know it you'll have your treasured record :) (at least Im hoping it will work that way!).

    I'll start the ball rolling..

I WANT.. in VG or M condition..

    1) Smashing Pumpkins ''Mellon Collie'' on vinyl, for under £25 inc p&p
    2) Smashing Pumpkins "Siamese Dream" on vinyl for under £9 inc p&p
    3) Zepplins Physical Graffiti on LP for less than £9 inc p&p
    4) Joni Michell's Blue on LP for less than £8 inc p&p.

Let me know if you see them!

What about you, whats your 'want to buy' list?

I wish I was in Japan to, but that's mainly because my ex lives there....

I wonder if I could get her to wear some vinyl?

Did you miss it a couple of years back? It got a re-release on double orange vinyl. Surely some unsold copies must be knocking around in some of the better independent record shops??...

Everyone should get to Japan at least once in their lives, and yes they do have some fantastic retro-vinyl stores there.

There's one for $235 on Gemm. Don't know if that's any use!

    Seriously I'd like:
Janos Starker the Bach Cello Suites on a Mercury, I know Speakers corner have reissued it but I'd like an original.......
    Another Physical Graffiti wantee
    Psychocandy Jesus and Mary Chain
Joy Division Unknown Pleasures I want one of the early Factory Pressings with a textured sleeve where the vinyl glows red when you hold it to a light
Almost anything by Half Man Half Biscuit
60's Jazz on Blue Note, Impulse, Verve and Riverside

Lol, i wish I could live in a very small flat, eat cold rice every day, and have extreme difficulty pronouncing "lovely" :p

Seriously - I'd just like to be able to buy new audiophile vinyl for less than than £25 a pop. Vivante & Diverse have the market to themselves (particularly Vivante, in terms of classical music) and seem to charge whatever they like for it.

I mean, £40 for a double 180g gatefold is exhobitant.

I seen the pumpkins live...must have been about '91 ish...at newcastle riverside - the verve were supporting them....billy wasn't too happy when there were stage divers after the 1.2 song - so, he unplugged his guitar from the amp (but still had it strapped around himself) and dive on the audience, thenback onto the satge and continued playing..!

    great!

Good as it is, i can only sit through 45 minutes of it, max. Gets boring after a while IMO - it is just a man & his cello, after all.

Bottleneck: Just had a look in HMV, £15.99 :/ The usual HMV bargain.

I'm after a copy of Aneima (sp?) by Tool if anyone sees one

Also after some cheapies (hopefully): Jamiroquai Emergency on planet earth/return of the space cowboy, Massive Attack Blue Lines and Warren G Regulate... G Funk Era

It's 100v, actually. The rice is hot and very good, and the average barely monolingual Brit seems to have great difficulty with Japanese pronounciation :)

A little pedantic maybe, but I do love 'A Mighty wind'.

It's a well known fact that Japanese houses are made of paper. Joel, I'd hate to be your neighbor :D

The paper walls in my flat do a very good impression of 30cm thick ferro-concrete :)
PS those aren't my speakers, that's just Markus' little joke.
