Not much of a "can" though is it? :D

The original "x" styling was better. Like the funky retro look of the dial though.

The previous two cans have both been generaly well recieved. I wonder how this will stand? I'm guessing there may be a price increase on the previous MOdels. Go for a slightly higher end of the market. But that's all a guess :D

Think it said on the site that it'd be around £250 so thats a £100 hike in price over the old v2. Wonder what the differences are (aside from the nicer volume knob) to warrent that hike is?

Also am I being to cynical in wondering if they'll bring out a new xpsu styled like that as well, along with the xlp etc etc?

Doubt I'll bother going from the v2 to this tbh as I rarely use it these days...

From what I hear it's going to be pretty good, a decent step up from the v2. But then all they would of had to do is log onto one of the headphone forums and take note of the mods being done to the V2 and they would have a winner!! No R and D required. If it has a good quality power supply built in and you already had a x-cans with x-psu then you could upgrade to this and bank some money if you sold the x-series on ebay :)

Also I read in their latest newsletter that they had a turntable on the way with a SME tonearm. Scarey though, a big chunky aluminium box!! I think I'll be sticking with my rega p25...

That looks quite nice actually; the volume knob has probably been improved because of popular demand. Not many people liked that little plastic jobbie that was on the last one.

Just got my Creek and love it so this doesn't really appeal at the moment :D

    Nice one Paul,

ToMOrow involves me waiting in for my speakers to be couriered back to me (can't get a specific time). And working in the afternoon/night. :(

Have you been to Newport before? I live a little bit away from there and try to spend as little time as possible in the *City* as possible. Thinking of a watering hole to reccomend to you. But through a combination of not really knowing my way around Newport too well (always pissed when i'm there) and not really rating any of it's establishments, well.....

As for hifi shops, there's a Sony center type thing, and a similar panasonic one. Further up the same street as them two (towards the train station) there a small independant store with some ok budget/ midrange kit. MOst of the usual WHF? fav's tend to be in there. Could have blown up by now for all I know though. Newport makes for a train change place for me and that's about it.

You may see some posters about with "MO" on them though :) Not me but my brother of same nickname who occasionaly plays an acoustic/vocal set in Newport.

    I thought LG had closed.

Mo, I have business with several contacts around that area Mo (I do other Things as well as Audio), plus I go about once or twice a week in the eve's.
The town isn't that apealing, but I know my away around, and it's only 1 hours away from me, well maybe next time, I do go quiet regularly. Tone

I wanted to get one of their dacs from ebay, until I realised it required a X-PSU these alone cost £300, and I have like £100 left in my bank account. Oh well when I come from back from europe I will have to work very hard to move my system into the mid range.

eh? You don't need an X-PSU. By all acounts they're very good, but you don't NEED one! Also, Don't even bother trying to buy one off ebay. MF X kit does go for quite a bit on there, and the X-PSU is the MOst consistanly over bid on item I see!

So will they work of a generic transformer with the correct voltage and ampage? I mean with decent performance? I am gussing the X PSU just improves the performance a little bit not its not the worth the extra money?

It has it's own wall wart (?). The XPSU is an optional extra so to speak. Zanash replaced the transformer thingy on his XDAC with a significant improvement I recall.
