    No one eh. :(.
I just wondered, i've had it about 18 months and it sound great to me, but my only reference is my old marantz PM-7200.
Be nice to know how it compares to non chinese gear.

I am interested in the Yaqin amps, are you using the valves as supplied or have you got NOS one's , i quite fancy one of the SET 300b/845/ 2a3 but i doubt if the output transformers would be good enough but who knows , the 300b looks stunning , you say the one you have is very good 'have you noticed any weak area's like the bass for example.

Hi, as i sound wise my only ref is my marantz and it beats that, still using original chinese valves, i'm pretty sure they are a weak link in the sound quality too, so i'm expecting an improvement when replaced when they finally blow. Do use tube dampers as well, think they help too.
I was hoping someone on here had had one and then upgraded so i could have had an opinion against other valve amps, but it doesnt seem to be.
The 300b does look awsome was considering that one too when i bought my 100b, but it was something like £200 more. I wouldn't hesitate to get another Yaqin amp though. Other chinese equip seems to going down well too.
I personally havent found any weak links in sound, bass isn't the deepest but i think that's down to speaker position, which i'm hoping to solve soon.
    Hope this has helped.

Thanks for that very useful, the reason i ask about the bass is because i had a pair of Audio Innovations 2nd audio amps and found the bass very poor ,then found out about the Border Patrol PSU Valve choke input filter' so i got these and they transformed the sound ,it seems most valve amps use very basic solid state rectifiers which i believe is responsible for the poor and loose bass that my old amps had.

I must say though for the money (400 ish ) a 300b SET integrated
seems to good to be true and i have the ideal speakers (snell type j)
    very very tempted .

    Yarland Pro200 SE...

Two years ago I bought a Yarland Pro200SE, 300B single ended amplifier and for the last year it has done nothing but flash great big blue sparks in the power valves everytime it has been switched on. It is, in short, an absolute pile of junk. It has turned into a very large waste of 430 quid.

I bought one out of curiosity a couple years ago.....piece of junk, chassis was twisted,I had too slide a packet of roll-up papers under one of feet just too stop it wobbleing about, volume knob came off in my hand inside of a week ,one binding post had a striped thread I could go on..........outed it on Ebay for 99quid

my advice wait save a few more quid & buy a WAD amp or Puresound.

    Hi,

I understand that Rob Holt, who posts on here and on Pinkfish, has had an amp by these people. It proved to be unsafe.

May be worth sending him a PM because his amp caught fire!

Had mine 18 months now,the MC-100b not the 300b, used virtually every day, hasn't missed a beat so far. And they do sound pretty good.

i have to say it does look well made and the components seem good
there is no reason why it shouldn't sound good after all these are very simple circuit designs, to me a good triode amp is still the best way to listen to recorded music and the best i have heard is the border patrol 300b and these (music angel/yaqin) should not come even close but would still love to hear one.

    Yarland Pro200SE

I put my Yarland into the hands of a very experienced electronics engineer with over fifty years valve experience and his opinion of it...? It is a huge pile of cobbled together junk. There is a solid state rectifier as well as the valve rectifier even though Yarland only sing the praises of the valve and the whole amplifier is based on a PCB even though this is also not advertised. The amplifier is sold with an ALPS Blue Velevet volume pot and this is a clear lie, the amplifier has a cheap resistor ladder volume pot that cannot be set at the correct volume as the resistor values are way too far apart. The engineer has told me that he has never seen such a piece of junk in all of his experience and it is fit only for scrap value.

He checked all of the internal voltages and none of them were within the operational range of the valves in question with the 6SN7 voltages being 7.6V instead of just 6.3V. This amplifier will just constantly and consistently burn out valves.

I have now sold it for scrap and I'm going back to good old transistors that switch on when you want them on and generally work when you want them to.
