I bought tricky too, very impressed. I tried Kings of Leon but just thought they were like a hip deep purple, couldn't get into it, I didnt feel good with it on the car stereo!

    Nice varied selection MO!

I really like the Kings of Leon, can't quite see the Deep Purple connection though SMEagol, not alike in any way imo, and I like them both :).

I don't really plow the heavy rock furrow... I found the album "aha..." was all over the shop stylistically, I know they are highly rated and live are excellent performers, just not my cup of cha.

Still working my way through them. Quite a few of them are replacements of albums I've given away or misplaced.

Of those I've listened to so far, The Knife and Crystal Castles albums have impressed..... a lot!

The Knife album is really good and highly recommended!

Really enjoyed the live DVD. It's a nice package of 2cds and the dvd. The studio album itself a live DVD (with 11 music video's on it too), The other cd is just the audio from the live show.

Agree about the Tricky album. Keep getting distracted or having to interrupt it but the tracks I've heard so far are good. Shall give it a proper listen tomorrow.

Yep, the Knife album is fantastic. I wouldn't recommend their other albums though, I found them a little disappointing.

Good shout on the Unkle and Sigur Ros CDs. Agaetis Byrjun is one of the most beautiful sequences of music ever committed to disk....especially "Olsen Olsen".

I'm liking the new Portishead too, not quite up to the excellent standard of Dummy however...

    Hi

This is my 4th copy of Agaetis Byrjun. Some music just has to be heard, and so I sometimes give albums to mates and insist they listen. I think I'm also on my 3rd/4th copy of Aesop Rock, and 2manydjs, when they arrive!
Several others on the list in the 1st post were second copies too.

Have you heard the new Sigur Ros album? What do you think of it?

I've just got back from a festival (Nature One) in Germany, and have had the Unkle album on my portable. Great flying music!

Welcome to the forum! Look forward to seeing what other music you're listening to :)

I have only given the new Sigur Ros album a couple of listens so far. It's nice, but hasn't gripped me in the way that Agaetis Byrjun, () or Takk did.

I would recommend "Transparent Things" by Fujiya & Miyagi, plus the new CD by Plej; "Home is where the heart was". I've just started to get in to Klaus Schulze too - Farscape with Lisa Gerrard is excellent...

    More recommendations to follow :).......
