I have been wondering about trying/changing different cables for a while, and i was very interested in trying pure silver (ar the mo,i'm using silver plated Black Rhodium). After trolling the boards over here and Zerogain, i came across many members using Zanashs' cables, and got intouch with him on the provisio on trying out his silver solid core cables.
After a few emails back and forth, he sent me a pair of very well constructed silver interconnects to try out with no obligation to buy.
They use good quality locking plugs which grip the phonos superbly, and tte cables are very well finished in black and white sheathing and heatshrink.
    Now,the effects on my system:
Definately smoother all round, and with a more flowy presentation...a tad more musical, less hi-fi,but no loss of air and depth. The bass is the same. very good cables, and if you suffer from harshness in the treble,i'm sure these will tame it down a bit. He's sending me some silver solid core 'speaker cables next week to evaluate too, and it will be interesting to hear the synergy with the interconnects.

For the money Petes cables really are something special.
    They've transformed my system.
The speaker cables should be a worthwhile improvement.
What are you currently using yahoodie?

currently using Black Rhodium Concerto silver plated ic's and AQ crystal 'speaker cable.
I never suffer from any sibilance or harshness with my current set up,but Zanashs' are definately smoother. (better built too!)

Let us know how you get on mate.

What with all these people saying cables can't possibly make a difference, i like some reassurance that i'm not the only one suffering from dementia. :JOEL:

    Thanks chaps !

Just been playing with a new one ...well same but with a different metalogy ..... it a platinum alloy...cost is a staggering £12/gram 10grams for a meter 4m needed for a pair of 1m ic's ....think you get the picture...

Sound makes the AgAu sound brash, grainy, harsh, and aharmonic

but I only noticed that once I'd swapped back ...when they were in my system they just were a bit underwhelming [which may have had a lot do with the vast amount of dosh I'd just spent to make 2 pairs 0.5m cables with silver plugs !

I'll do a DIY recipe for them on the DIY section

I have used this manufacturer for a while now, I started with the silver interonnects which were superb, the Palladium ones however are sublime, just sublime, I shan't ever change my cables again, I also use his silver speaker cables, better than anything else.

Wow.... and look at the prices go!

£1750 for a cable that has at most £600 worth of parts ...got to be taking the proverbial ...still not as bad as the reputed 1000% mark up from the old days !

Don't forget, this is a commercial concern. Not someone making bits of cable, for his mates. Gordon Brown wants 17.5% VAT, for a start. Then there's dealer margins, labour costs, and overheads. I think they're very reasonably priced, but I would say that, wouldn't I.

am i missing something, but i don't see any dealers on the website? so there goes 40% and vat in vat out.

looks like a direct to customer operation to me, and the product looks hand finished rather than machine made.

so £600 per made metre for silver foil that costs £10 per single metre for the speaker wire is starting to look kinda pricey.

    They must be really good.

I think you are doing the AgAu a bit of a disservice Pete.

Thats more or less exactly the differences I find, when I swop back, silver seems quite mechanical in comparison, to my palladium leads.

The agau is a serious step up from straight silver ...

but thats how it felt ......so I think coops has a point.

of course the down side is the is the cost which is not inconsiderable....

Zanesh it would be interesting to hear your platinum compared to the palladium! Audio note kindly lent me some of their silver cables litz construction, they did sound fine until you swopped and then they sounded a little relentless, I just can't understand when people say they can't hear the difference, 1 metre of interconnect makes a huge difference, are your cables twisted pairs? Keith.
