I like their new album, do I need to hold a dinner party every time I want to play it?

My claim to fame, I used to play in a band with Robin Mullarkey who played bass on their first album, not sure if he's on their second.

Coq au vin or Beef Bourginon goes down very nicely with them I find:D

I think their a decent enough band but all the references to this years dinner party soundtrack have peeved me a bit I think they are better than that.

I'm with you Joolsburger, I like the new album and rate them better than just "AIR, but not as good", "middle class dinner party music" or other such comments that have been levelled at them.

This album is, in fact, the nuts. I urge you to buy it.

to be honest given airs past 2 outings (although 10k is a bit of a grower) zero 7 is much more immediately accessable and i like that. i can understand the 'dinner party' label but i'd certainly agree that they are better than that suggests. so it's 2 thumbs fresh from me too. if you want another recommendation in a similar vein then check out fragile state, their first album is ok but the second is very very good.

    cheers

I will certainly try Fragile State and in a similar recommeding vein try Theivery Corporation, The Richest man in Babylon and also Charles Webster Born on the 4th of July. Both fairly oldies but goodies...

I have Zero 7 On vinyl and I must say the last track on side C is the absolute monkeys pyjamas. A corking tune.
