    Hi all

I thinking of changing my tonearm on my office TD125 MK2. My choice is a big Zeta or OL Silver Mk2. Has anyone got any experience of the 2 of them on the same table?

    thanks

    Rob

No, but the Zeta is a high mass arm and is really only suitable for low compliance cartridges. Something to consider whe nmaking the choice.

Isn't the OL Silver just a ponsed-up Rega?

mmm. I'm going to be using my older Red Signature with which ever one I opt for. I have the OL silver 2 and yes it's basically a RB ???. Not my best purchase but I've had it for about a year now.

    Hi Rob,

I have heard of people using a Koetsu in a Zeta.

I have always liked the look of the Zeta. Have you got a Zeta lined up?

KRS should work very well in the Zeta as least on technical grounds.

If you're thinking of a Rega based arm the Tecnoarm is vastly better built and sounding than the OL Silver Mk 11. I've owned both in the past. The OL is overpriced for the poor build and performance IME.

I've had the OL silver Mk2 for a while now and it was an impulse purchase. I saw a tecnoarm a while ago and thought it looked better built. All reports of the Silver 2 say it is worth every penny.... I think it lacks bottom end, very much like the RB300.

Perhaps it is worth mentoning that Zeta's were not entirely free from quality control criticism and one should definately check the bearings. In addition, it is quite a heavy arm and may not (or may, I don't know) be suited to the suspension of the TD124.

    Hi

This Zeta was last was last serviced about a year ago and the bearing are a beauty! As for the TD125 suspension...it's not an LP12 if you know what I mean:D

Good news on both counts then - just thought I would mention potential issues so as to avoid disapointment.
