Well, we talked about it and then everyone went quiet...

What with the recent threads on biking though there seems to be a resurgence of interest, so let's see...

This weekend is forecast lovely weather for the sunday. So, let's do it! Who's up for a ride from Marsden, west yorks? I've got some good loops that I've been working on, so those interested say what sort of climbing, trails and distance/time you can cope with and I'll choose an appropriate one.

    Who's brave enough?

The problem with trying to arrange it far in advance is that the british weather will not play ball, especially in september.

...plus there's getting Lhatkins and myself anywhere by train - other than that, what a top idea!

Isaac, another weekend would be good, it would be a laugh.

I'd reccomend keeping distance under 20m and not more than 2 big climbs so that it will work for a variety of abilities.

For myself Im currently badly out of shape and just trying to get back into the hobby after 5 years out, so would be taking things at a slower pace.

Personally I dont mind what the weather might be like. I will enjoy it in all conditions.

    Cheers
    Chris

A ZG bike-off sounds great, but too short notice. Regardless of whether you do one in September or not, couldn't another one (road-oriented maybe) be arranged with ample notice, sometime next spring maybe? I would consider traveling to enemy territory ;)

With regards to the hills.... what is doable is that I could drive those who require it up to the top of the first big climb (800ft), take the car back down and ride up with the fit ones (or just me...).

I can make a loop of around 11 miles, 15 miles, 23 miles, etc, taking in climbs, drops, fast singletrack, slow singletrack, smooth, rough, etc...

Well, here visibility is well under 100m and it's drizzling. Not too warm either.

Think I need to order some knobbly tires to carry on riding...

Here is a question, you can buy bike water proof jackets in bright colours but not trousers, what's the deal with that? Surely if your wearing water proof gear the visability isn't good, so why make them in dark colours, weird :)

Well it's dry here, the mo-sickling has fallen through so I'm off out shortly to show some of the downhillers at the Specialized DH race series how to ride uphill!
