A lovely piece of piano for the wife

    More Grieg recommendations here...

    Apart from his A minor piano concerto, I'm also rather partial to his solo piano works too, especially the his "Lyric Pieces" which always seem to touch the heart for me.

    An disc I aquired a while back was this one by Mikhail Pletnev which has some other interesting curios to supplement the selection of well knowns from Lyric Pieces:

    Other recordings of Lyric Pieces which appear to come well recommended (although I've not personally heard them) have been recorded by Lief Ove Andsnes and Emil Giles.

    Another personal favourite disc of piano music by Grieg is this one recorded by Cyprien Katsaris, mainly for the performance and arrangement of the Holberg Suite:
