Anyone seen this on ebay?

Martin

I'm not a lawyer, but I do know that generally, a contract in this country has no basis unless consideration has passed between the two parties.

Here's a fuller explanation, particularly as it applies to online trading.

The key point is that no consideration (payment) or promise of consideration has taken place when bidding in online auctions.

separated at birth ? i think we should be told

the uk seller has not given feedback to the oz seller, and vice versa.

Hi,

It seems that the bloke from down under is a seller of turntbles and turntable bits. He has sold plenty of his alignment discs and turntable oil. His ad for the turntable does say that he makes the deck and there is a 8 week waiting time.

The British seller seems to imply that he has made the deck. No history of hifi sales in his feedback. With (nearly) the same description and pictures, you have to be on your guard.

This is interesting.

the guy from england has just sent me an e mail stating that its still for sale and i am to make him an offer.
not likley.

Hi Rob,
sorry for the delay. The turntable is still for sale. Please tell me your offer and maybe we have a deal.
Waiting your answer ASAP.

ive sent him the link to the australian auction explaining that it all looks to dodgy for me to give him an offer.

The base of the deck looks like a voyd/audionote. I think it may have been made from audionote parts with an origin live motor, although I am only guessing.

Has anyone contacted the australian man?

If you could get it for less than the £523 that it went for on e-bay, I reckon that would still be a fair old deal. The PU2 arm is a cracking arm and worth between £200 -300.

Especially if you could audition first.

If I was back in the UK I know what I would be doing this Saturday - Just what I need another bl00dy turntable.
