Arm positioning

    I'm 80% through my Garrard 401 project now, with the plinth almost done and the arm and cartridge in my posession.

    Next up is where exactly to site the arm. As far as I can gather from pics and stuff on the web it's not critical where you put it, but am I right in this?

    I'm going to use an aluminium spacer
    (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI....m=190191630686&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=009) to help with height and ease of mounting.

    I'll stick a pic on in a minute, to show where I plan to put it.

    I hope the answer is 'yes it does matter where you put it'. You need to know the arm pivot to record centre distance (the arm manufacturer will be able to tell you this).

    Yep, someone on another forum pointed me in the right direction, and I got hold of the tech specs for the rb300 and it's all in there; 222mm from spindle to pivot.

    Thanks for double-checking tho', appreciated. :)
