I use an Ortofon om 10 on my Linn Akito/ Basik turntable. It is a good cartridge for what it is. However, I find that to get the best in sound and tracking I need to use it a 1.95g which is 0.2g over the maximum( which is 11%!). I'm using a Stevenson alignment and it is slightly 'tail up '.At this weight it tracks well the bass is full and the overall sound is open and very acceptable. I notice that others also seem to do this if you look into the literature far enough. I think that at around 10 % over for an elliptical is I guess not too much in terms of record wear and as there is no mis-tracking and sibilance and IGD is minimal there is little problem with this........comments please !
