Well, I certainly missed some options - but to be fair there are a hundred ways to skin this rabbit it seems.

What is suprising me so far is how few people DONT put their TV through some sort of hifi. I was expecting more people not to be interested in AV at all, what with this being more of a hifi forum than an AV one (IMHO).

Its obvious that AV is a part of life for a lot of people now.

top stuff :)

What I find interesting is that 80% are not prepared to compromise their stereo for it :D

HiFi speakers sit either side of fireplace, fed by CD transport/dac and poweramp (on Mana 4 tier).

TV sits in corner on other side of room, with three AV speakers and an active sub, fed by AV processor that sends surround in digital to stereo dac.

So, I voted for the fourth option.

Either I/we listen and talk around the fireplace, or I/we watch the telly/DVDs. Its the furniture that gets shifted. I didn't like looking at a blank telly when listening/chatting.

I have my main HiFi upstairs, and a AV system downstairs, enjoy both, but hifi has priorities, saving to add a Panny PW6 or Viera Plasma soon.

I have my av integrated with my hifi.
There is my hifi amp feeding my 2 fronts, the Denon 3802 feeding the rest of the channels (and using the hifi amp for the front two via preouts), the TV sound comes through the av amp, and so does the dvd (except when it plays sacd in which case I use RCAs to connect it directly to my hifi amp).

cds and vinyl go straight to the hifi amp.

oh, but i don't have a sub (yet). looking into it now.

Jack
