Has anybody seen the new Batman? I heard a review of it on the radio by Mark Kermode, and he seemed quite enthusiastic. Well, up to a point at least. Apparently Christian Bale plays the role in a similar way to how he played Patrick Bateman in American Psycho...I'm intrigued :rds2: Perhaps there's a link...Bateman...Batman... :D

saw it. it's definately one of the better comic to movie films, up there with spiderman, sin city and x-men. wouldn't say it's 'the best film of the year' (that'd be sin city so far) but definately worth seeing if you like this kind of thing.

I've not seen it myself yet, but a couple of people I know who have, have MOstly been seomwhat dissapointed.

Have seen...is Excellent (just like the DarkHorse comics)....very dark and brooding in places with a decent plot

thumbsup from me

Very good film. Only criticism was Batman's voice. I dont know what Bale was thinking but it was hilarious. Needs more work for the next movie.

But we all know how Batman began... his parents were killed and he wanted his own back. I don't need a film to remind me of that!

Yeah I am going to see this on Friday... hmm.. with my girlfriend... and her friend who seems to fancy her and was upset that she didn't notice him flirting. It should be great fun! Any help appreciated here lol

Well I have to join in with those who were positive about this film. I thought it was great - dunno if it was just that I was in the mood for it, but I thought the direction (By Christopher Nolan) was brilliant - had what is lacking in loads of comic-book type films - pacing. Apart from that I liked the subtle use of CGI (rather than the in your face spidey swinging through New York / hulk doing gigantic leaps type efforts).

I also throught Christian Bale was great - and the supporting cast were also brilliant (excepting Katie Holmes, who to be honest wasn't given any chance to try and act).

In summary : Dark, entertaining and worth seeing.

I loved it. Easily the best of the Batman movies IMO. Much darker, more serious and more realistic than the other absurdly OTT Batman films. Very entertaining.

I saw it with my (somewhat younger than I am) girlfriend and at the end there's a reference to The Joker of the "first" Batman movie. When we were walking out of the cinema she said: "So there's going to be a sequel then with The Joker..." :D

Michael.

Great film, easily the best Batman movie.

I saw it with my gf who had never seen a Batman movie before, not even on TV, and never read a Batman comic. She liked it a lot.

I have to say it was really good! I didn't see it with my GF and her friend though because when we went to meet him he didn't turn up! Wicked :D
