    My shearne amp arrived today:D
    the guy kindly threw in an IC, its an Ecosse and has written on it --

    reference high definition 75 ohm asymmetrical monocrystal audio cable

    what the hell is that?

    Perhaps. The 75ohm bit isn't going to be much of an advantage, as analogue line connections are not designed to be impedance matched, they are strictly low output impedance (source circa 300 ohms or less) to high (ish) impedance sink (10K ohms and above, but not normally more than 100k ohms for RF rejection purposes and to avoid unnecessary filtering effects with most cables, usually HF).

    But if it works, who's going to knock it? If it sounds good then it is good. I assume that you've not just got the one, otherwise it will be good mono, or actually worse, good half stereo, which isn't the same thing!
