£150 used should allow you to buy a CD player that is the equal of the Arcam. The temptation (which I always succumb to!) is to go for the best name you can for the money which normally means at £150 the unit will be a bit clapped out. There is then the problem that you can never sell it on for anything like what you paid for it. Ebay seems to have had some good buys go through recently- A 6000KI went for £165 and we bought a Cambridge CD2 for our archive for a munificent £68 which sounds suprisingly good.

I paid £150 for a brand new CD6000OSE LE with a two year warranty. It sounds bloody good for the price and its a solid piece of engineering.
