Hello everybody, this is my first post. I've got a cyrus 2 + psx,I was wondering if anyone who's familiar with this combo knew of any tweaks or mods. I've replaced the pot & put in new caps in some parts of the amp (phono ps)which has helped to clean up the sound but I've left others in until I have a better idea of what to upgrade them with.
I'd like to change the opamps in the phono stage (ne5532/ne5534),would opa2604's be a drop-in replacement? There are also 2.2uf np caps in the phono stage that need replacing,I was looking at BG's N 4.7uf ,(so far,I haven't been able to find a np 2.2uf cap that is suitable) or would that affect the eq?Any ideas welcome....atb

yes...... though not the best they are pretty good.

don't forget that resistors effect the sound too, especially those in the signal path, and of course the type of internal wire used.

Thanks for the reply."yes...... though not the best they are pretty good".What other opamps should I look at?I have a Cyrus1 circuit diagram to work from,I can solder stuff n/p but as for the theory side I know very little.Which kind of resistors should I be looking at?In what priority should I be doing this eg 1).caps2).resistors 3).opamps or a different order?
