    To a point.

I have been driven from ramsgate, seacat to somewhere (bolougne I think), france, belgium, germany, france, germany, austria, stopped for the night in Innsbruk. Next morning continuing south, into italy to Ancona, pick up the "Superfast" ferry to Patras. Then drove to Mycenae. All in all, far too bloody long.

Fly. It will cost less and be much quicker.

    £400 each or for both?

Consider fuel, staying somewhere each night, food and drinks at service station prices, cost of repairs when you get bumped by greek/italian drivers (this is not a maybe) and the 8 days of your life (4 each way with a little recovery time) you save, and the flights suddenly look so very reasonable...

Fly, rent a car there if you really have to. Save tons of useful time.

    Cheers

It would be madness to drive there, a quick guess tells me it would cost about £320 in accomodation based on £40 a night, probably about £100 of ferry costs, perhaps even more, and something like a 100 gallons of petrol, about £400 should we say, it's dearer than flying. OTOH you can fly easyjet london to Athens, then hire a car for about £250. Flights to Greece should be fairly cheap at this time of year as the tourist season is not high.
