I bought these last year from 'Analogue Kid' on this forum and although they are the finest headphones I've ever had I can't justify keeping them as I listen so rarely now on them - I bought as youngest child in house was often woken by music (!!) but she now sleeps through.
They are unusual in design as they 'rest' on your head with the 'phones held a little away from the ears by foam pads behind the ears- is much less tiring than conventional fit and take output from the loudspeaker terminals on your amp via their own switching box.
Sound? - great, fast transients, realistic bass and a 'to die for' mid-range. I've had other headphones (previously Grado RS1s) but they don't come close.

Stone Audio - UK dealer says:
Incredible bass, super fast transients and fatigue free! The Ergo AMT employs a completely new drive unit, the Air Motion Transformer. The most remarkable feature of the AMT is it's fast reaction to impulses, ensuring correct phase and excellent dynamics. It is possible to detect details in music that simply cannot be reproduced by other speakers. The Ergo AMT is supplied with its own switching box for direct connection to the LS output of your amplifier. This is the ultimate in personal listening and an absolute must for serious headphone users. We guarantee the AMT will provide a listening experience unsurpassed by any other headphone on the market.

New cost £599 - serious offers please - looking for around £275

    AMT Headpones

I am interested in buying the headphones but first can yoy tell me what condition are they in, any marks or scuffs and what condition are the foam pads in. I assume they are in perfect working order, do they require much power from the amp to drive them, out of interest what amp do you use?
    Sorry for all the questions

Hi Mike - thanks for your interest. The headphones are in good condition, there are no scuffs on them. If you look closely there a couple of light surface marks in the top of the 'phones but no scratches. The foam pads are fine - no tears and still 'springy' They are in perfect working order and don't need much in the way of power (~3-5 watts) to drive them. I used them with a Mccormack integrated drive and lately with a WAD Kit 88.
