Ah yeah Julian, but that's why I dig them - Barbarella's one groovy baby, baby... Too many babies!

    Here's another fave of mine - a ReVoX A77:

    Dom.

I like the look of the minipods, but I have heard them in situe and they are dire.

They had help from the optional sub as well, but all in all they sound like shit.

I didn't think they sounded *that* bad when I heard them in this art gallery (with artwork from Wavey Gravy amongst other people) but admittedly they were playing plinque and were near corners (which helped the bass) - I still want a pair just for the looks even if they do sound awful in a real system...

I'd love to know how they stack up against the Rega Kytes - particularly in treble quality...

Have to agree, the minipods do look kinda cool, but it's probably just because they aren't the "boring boxes" that we see most of the time. I also didn't think they sounded that good, although as you say Dom, they were playing plinque and it's not really a good test now is it?

The art exhibition was rather cool though, Wavy Gravy paintings and Jerry Garcia's charcoal sketches.

For bulkiness of speakers, I think we need to get a pic of Bren's old Wharfedales in this thread.

FYI dudes there was a pair of those Usher Audio Compass Dancer Floorers on HFN Classies a few months ago, brought over for a hifi show (Heathrow ??) rrp £5500 offered for £2500 IIRC. Pro rata the standmounts down from their and you are in Sonus Faber Cremmie Auditor range cicra £2000 (And these not only look like the m/nutts they also sound devine to boot), anyway they look stunning I agree. Nearly as good as my Castles :) :) :).

You forgot to mention the smell of that lovely leather. Or do you only get that on Grand Pianos?

I auditioned a pair of GPs a while ago and was impressed by the build. The sides were finished in shiny Black (piano?) gloss but the top and front were covered in leather. I remember I could smell the leather, must have been while I was moving the speakers ;)

You do get a choice of 2 finishes on the concertinos/concertos/grandpianos,of either walnut,or black piano lacquer, both look stunning, but i choose the walnut,as i'm not to keen on gloss finnishes, still can't smell the leather, must have blocked nose.
