Feet for speakers - an overly discussed topic I know. But I'm unsure, and can't find a specific answer.
About to finish a couple of 250L BR cabs for 15" Tannoy Monitor Golds. Needless to say, even though the padding and drivers aren't in yet, I can only just lift them. They're going to be weighty completed.
They're going on a hardwood floor, so I'm thinking spikes are out. What should I mount them on, squash balls, blue tack? I've looked at sorbathane but the ones on ebay can't cope with these sort of weights.
Or will their weight mean I don't really need to bother - just leave them on the floor?

I've come to the conclusion ...that certainly for my speakers ....a decouple approach gives the best results.

so if you make an 18mm mdf base plate the same size as your speaker foot print..then get some platfoam from auralex. you can get single lengths from some stockists....just google it.
just cut the foam to cover the base of the plate.

I was able to use auralex mopads but I've a relatively small footprint.

I use the large size Russ Andrews oak cones on one and horror of horrors castors on the other so I can push it into the corner when the wife complains.

foam under, or on top (sandwiched) of base plate? baseplate screwed to cab?

Smithy - do you rate cones?

foam under bass plate speaker spiked or coulped to it....

or just the platfoam .....

Hi Pete...Long time no speak! I've just ordered a couple of lengths to use under my Arcs using Mana boards which I also have in a cupboard somewhere. Do you recommend anything to stick them to the underside of the board with? Or not stuck? with the speaker weight keeping them in position?

You got any further SRC 2496 mods at all?

Cheers, Dave
