Better game last night but anyone know why Crouchy was booed when he came on? Heard it was something to do with something in the papers but I didn't see anything?
Also heard it was because he came on for swp who was having a good game but no reason to boo Crouch.
Feel sorry for Crouch. I rate him as a player but seems that people view him as a bit of a freak. He is gangly but he's pretty good I think.

Because he's everything that's wrong with Sven. A good player, but he's not scored in a Liverpool shirt but still gets a game. SWP was ace, but gets taken off. You only get to play if you play for one of the big sides. SWP couldn't buy a game when he played for City, now he's a regular on Chelseas bench he gets to start for England. You tell me the logic

IMO last night's game showed everything that's right with Sven and he answered his critics in the best way possible.

The fact that you're a City fan of course has nothing to do with your view about SWP not getting picked when he played for them ;)

SWP had a knock I think so sven took him off. I cant see last nights performance being anything to get excited about, I still sense we are really underperforming.

No excuse for booing the lad but lord makes a valid point. He's been average at best this season and I think someone like Defoe deserves a shot. I cant understand why Danny Murphy isnt in the squad, he has been outstanding for Charlton and has showed genuine class.

SWP got a start because Becks was suspended and got taken off because he'd taken a knock. It was virtually a friendly anyway so he might aswell sling Crouch on for a bit more experience for him.

So does no one know what Cole was talking about when he refers to something in the papers?

I hate the way Sven picks his best 11 players and then tries to put round pegs in square holes. Last night for 60 minutes at least they looked much better, but everyone was playing in positions close to what they play at club level. (Actually everyone but Carragher but he has played left back at Liverpool before now)
Beckham should be dropped, he's got to choose between Gerrard and Lampard, and King should start instead

King did look good, Young was okay too, although he showed his inexperience for the goal but he's very composed on the ball.

Yep, a great game! Seemed to suit us playing away with a MOre counter attacking style. As one of the commentators said though, it will be interesting to see how we cope playing at home when the emphasis will be on us to press the game MOre.

All three of the goals were class! Some great finishing on display there.

Things really do seem to be on the up with Walter Smith and Co in charge.

Oh..... you're talking about England? ;)

Did anyone else notice how narrow the game became when SWP went off. IMO you can only play a player like crouch if you have wide players who will put good crosses in, not just hoofing the ball up to him. Sven will not drop Beckham even though he is not the best player or the best captain material. Also Owen as captain???
