Somewhere between a sidegrade and downgrade I think. Why do software producers ever think that adding slowness and consuming extra bandwidth is acceptable?
There's always one . Sure, there's more DHTML and CSS which will cause a small increase in bandwidth and slowness but it's not noticably slower to me. I think the new usability features far outweigh the negatives.
The "Quick Reply" box will save a fair amound of bandwidth (if people use it) as it will save having to load the "reply" page each time.
Are you one of those people who thinks that any text editor beyond vi is just bloatware?
I like this quick reply feature. I have used VB3 on a student forum I frequent, it get lots of server busy messages even though its hosted on its own rackspace server. However I don't think its the software to blame .
The only problem is this site looks identical to another forum I go on and I have the same user name. I just hope I don't get mixed up.
