My provider has just changed their policy - from fantastic cover for these items to atrocious. Does anyone have any recommendations for a provider with good accidental damage cover for hifi and records in the policy?

Any decent home contents insurance should have unlimited cover.

There are some companies out there that will insure just your records/cd's etc.
However these only pay out if there is complete loss (rather than odd items).

also be aware that if your contents insurance does cover your albums, and you have a policy with someone else that also does... neither may pay up.... They argue between them over who should pay out.

Moral : Have ONE policy that covers everything.

I use direct line, my neice recently knocked one of my limited edition JMLab Electra 907Be speakers over and they happily replaced them with Electra 1007Be, even though there was a £600 price difference.
Just have their normal accidental damage cover.
My CDS are covered in the contents too.
