HiVi 3.1 DIY vs. Kali LP6 (gen1)

Hello everyone!
I'm looking to do a DIY build with the HiVi 3.1 kit ($300), but also saw that I could get a used Kali LP6 (gen1) for about $250. I'm highly conflicted, as I am a bit tight on money. Which one has a better sound? Are they more or less similar?

Both loudspeakers got decent reviews on ASR, but I would go with the Kali, as they're active, so you wouldn't need an amplifier. Al things being equal, which I know they never are!, I would always go for an active loudspeaker over a passive.
