What you say about Ferrari is certainly true tones. Many, older, restored Ferraris from the 50s, 60s etc are now in much better condition than when they left the factory as owners have done what the factory should have done in the first place.

Having owned & run an exoctia car empourium for over 10 years, we found more than a smattering of Female<>Car comparisions that had filtered through the trade.
This Notice was framed and in the main office

    COMMON CUSTOMER MISCONCEPTIONS
    ============================

    1. Alfa Romeo's & Ferrari' are akin to the the female of the species in that..
They require, gentle warming up before full, and proper arousal can be achieved.
Failure to do so, will result in poor performance & possibly sulky nature, thus necessitating serious Capital investiment to restore the said beastie to its former true self (Rorty & Bubblesum)
    2. Your Alfa Romeo/Ferrari has many requirements that are feminine in nature:-
A warm haven to shelter from the cruel elements,
A careful and well balanced diet of protiens and mineral oils,
Copious amounts of care and attention lavished daily,
Exterior apparel needs continual embellishment to maintain that youthful appearance.
    3. Owing an Alfa Romeo/Ferrari, like a woman can much joy and pleasure for hours, however both require lots of T.L.C. and substanial monitory investment (High maintainance factor)
    4. In common with all females, it has a sixth sense, should you attempt to keep you Alfa Romeo/Ferrari on a minimal budget, It's more than likely that it will become , unhappy & disillusioned, argumentative, thus leading to a final blow up and expensive divorce. So be warned...................................

You left out one element in No.3, Tony - have a spare one to drive, while the other one's being expensively fixed.

Having made a rash and ultimately financially crippling decision of buying an Alfa on whim a few years ago I can totally agree with those statements

Ohh had I of know then what I know now.....:(

I loved my Alfa,in a totally different way to how i loved the Impreza, they just appeal to the heart in a way a German/Japanese car can only dream of

    except maybe a Porche RS,or an E30 M3,of an ITR,or a or a RS6,or a RS2 or a Audi Quatt................oh,i think my theory is busted:rolleyes:

That'll be ya wallet loving you that will be..

What is it with Audi? I also went for a Quattro and now dream about an RS4, seems to a popular car here.

Hmm, wonder if there is a correlation between the BMW group of drivers and their preferred music presentation and Audi drivers and theirs?:)

because they are totally uneccessary cars, and perhaps insane as well, and brilliant because of that:)

best budget insane uberwagon is the twin turbo Legacy,265bhp for 12k,for a decent 4 yr old car. They will leave Imprezas for dead:)

as for BMW drivers taste in music? I dunno? Black lace maybe?

    Back to shiny cars

I just used up the last of my Autoglym gloss protection and have decided to try something else as its not that great at disguising swirl marks. I was going to try Zymol, but a quick visit of some US car forums has tempted me to have a go with some Meguiars NXT Tech wax. Some of the guys are raving about this stuff. Take a look at this vid :-

    http://xgen.sitestream.com/mcasx.asx?media=1362477&package=1342885

Looks pretty impressive, so I thought I'd give it a go. It should arrive soon and so I'll give it a try in due course.

Yep Audi for me even a humble 130 TDIsport, not the best handling, or fastest, or quickest, etc, but quick enough, fast enough, handles decently, decent stereo, great seats, superb interior, good looks, and doing over 500 miles everyweek is for me the best allrounder, and makes going to work a pleasure, doesn't make work any more pleasurable, just going there, the mini belongs to the missus and is standard apart from chilli pack, absolute hoot to drive very loose back end under hard braking makes for some lovely lift off oversteer, I have lots of rural A and B roads about five minutes from my house and the MINI is a great tool for blowing off the cobwebs.

I wax our cars not to protect them as they are company cars, but because theey look nice when they are shiny.:D

Was taken months ago when we got the MINI, cars weren't at their shiniest and it was a dull day, had just got a small camera as other one not that discreet and was testing it out, also had a play about in PS and thought the MINI looked best customised!

    http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/v250/analogkid/pnk_mini.jpg

And no my cars could not look that shiney as they are not black, the difference is if you spend all day sunday polishing your black car and it rains lightly or there is a heavy jew in the morning your black car will be covered in dirty spots, so will a light metallic, but it will be harder to spot. I never got to choose my colour this time as have only been with this company since beginning of the year, car was four months old and 4K miles when i got it, it's just about what i would have chosen although I would have gone for red and spent paint money on something else, colour i have looks stunning in that moody light we get in Scotland where its Storm cloud, bright sunshine and rain all at once, like coulour car and black and white background.:D

Your car is nice and shiney though, would look better from three quarter shot, never thought side on was best for Octavia wheelbase looks a bit short, seem to have sorted the looks with the new one though.

:D the new one gets a slating in the Skoda bbs, rightly so,its hideous, but then again, you don't buy an RS because it looks good,in fact, its on the Olive side of On The Buses, certainly not pretty (you buy it because the Impreza and new HIFI were not gonna get past the wife )

    yeh,black cars,dirty within 200 yrds:rolleyes: but great when shiney

3/4 shot was on the front page btw;)
