Just to finish of this thread really - I finally managed to get hold of a decent 2nd hand CD player, an Arcam CD93T, and wow I'm impressed.

Before I had a NAD 541i, before than an Arcam CD62, and the 93T is in a different league.

The sound-stage is rock-solid, and what has suprised me is how relatively warm it is compared to other Arcams I've heard. Yet its not "veiled" warm like the NAD was, the Arcam is "luke-warm" but very detailed.

The other thing that has surprised me is the bass ! - I was always worried about the bass with my Tannoy S8LRs, but they sound superb now. I imagine the bass from the Arcam would perhaps sound a bit-overblown with some speakers.

    Overall, more than happy.

    Mark.
