Is 'Anglo-Saxon' being used as a term of racist abuse?

At the moment the moderators are receiving record levels of complaints about xenophobia, racism, and defamatory comments made against groups of people.

Such feelings might not even be meant by the author of a comment, but the subtle inflections of the spoken word dont come across in written text, and comments can seem a lot harder sometimes than we initially mean.

I wont jump to judge any individual entry or cast any stones. All I'd like to ask at this stage is for people to think hard about what they write before they write it.

Thanks very much

Chris

Are the fr... and k..... complaining?

Laughing at funny foreigners is a national pastime here. The French with their inadequate hygeine, and tendency to get a bit narky about American films, and the Germans with their fun-loving "flexible European borders" policies of yore.

Look it might be a national pastime but that doesn't make it either big or clever, and as a matter of fact it isn't just other nationalities that are complaining. Please remember guys this is an international board and is all the better for it.

But the French aren't a race, and neither are the Germans. They are nationalities.

Some people will complain or take offence about anything. Complaints aren't always valid.
