I've Gone Valve!

Ive had some real mixed results with audio research..

Some of the models Ive heard have been dark and wooly, others crystal clear and powerful.

Sounds like you landed on your feet though Robbo with a corker. That battleship build quality will probably out last all of us too.

NNB - you looking at another sub then, bigger speakers or is the new combo good enough on its own?

I'm glad you sussed that, it's like having a buit in instant 'hifiness' button :D , now Steve (7V) prefers it with it on, and intrestingly Alex S felt it was quitre PraTRy that way :)

Have you done any comparisions with the Tsunamia yet Ian? Tone

Cheers for that chris. Will PM in due course. Regarding the sub, I am going to live without it for a while and see how I get on. There are no current plans to change the speakers.

Yep, with the upsampler on I think the player is, not to put too fine a point on it, boring as hell. :D It won't be going on again, much better without. I would say Alex S has it exactly the wrong way round. :)

No cable tests yet - that'll come tomorrow I think.
