Mains plug, again...

To a degree, they can also squash dynamics too  , plus what about the 'Common mode' LF shite?, voltage surges and spikes?, hash, HF induced by the components themselves?,cdp's are great generators of shite, tuff call either passive shite removal/or direct ac coupling, maybe total mains regeneration ala' Ps audio and Accuphase, even choose you output wave form 47-63hz.
Too hifi for me, but common mode removal is a basic must for any hifi system I feel.
The mains is key to your system, give the proper stuff and you won't believe the difference :) WM

Ferrites are a big no no. They will suck out the dynamics and life of the sound.
:o Oh dear! Last winter I went ferrite mad and fitted couple of dozen huge ferrites on all audio and video components I could lay my hands on.

How did you find the sound after fitting the ferrites? If you are happy with them in place then keep them, but in my system ferrites were a step backwards.

But isn't the CU long way from the living room?

Did you mean running one dedicated cable (eg. a CY or another type of shielded cable with 1.5 mm or bigger cores) for all your HiFi components?
Fortunately my CUs are in my living room. I have a separate CU just for the hifi and from that seven separate spurs, one for each powersupply. It seems to work
