Decided to sell or swap the CD-63B that I picked up recently, sounds surprisingly good but is not remote and am sick of getting up and down, lazy me

First purchesed by previous owner in 1985 and in good condition and working order, anyone fancy a piece of history.

Open to offers or may swap for amplifier.

Cheers, Mart.

You know you can buy a cheap generic remote control that will work with that Marantz, I bought a 4 in 1 Audio Zapper for a £1 brand new. It works fine with older Philips transports.

AT - do not confuse the CD63B (1985?) with the CD63 (1995).

Will the 85 model not have a remote control sensor though? This remote control worked with my parents old Midi sized Sony CD Player from 1987. It has all philips CODEs from day one, so if that CD Player has a remote sensor this remote control will work.

This Sony had no remote control which came with it, it didn't even have a visible sensor but when you took the LCD cover of you could see the sensor and the fact the LCD cover was a violet opaque colour probably also gave the came away.

Argh ok I guess Sony got their first, plus this was 1987 but it was a very basic machine even for 87 so I assumed pretty much all CDps other than the very ealry top loaders had the sensor.

Yep - I was replying to Amazingtrade...

Apparently, the early Philips/Marantz machines are the best sounding of all the early CDP hardware. My Marantz CD54 (1985) sounded very good indeed until the laser burnt out :( I got my money's worth out of it though :)

Sorry Dom

Apparently one of the best sounding ones was the Philips 104, its midi size, built like shit brickhouse and is very heavy.

A friend has one and has upgraded the output stage with burr browns etc.

Plugged into his MF A370 into his old Mission 770's it does indeed sound good, mind, the A370 drives speakers effortlessly to silly levels so may have something to do with it.

If I had the cash I'd take you up on that, heard the MF A1000 a couple of years ago and liked it.

Unfortunately, circumstance dictates I cant afford it, thanks anyway.

Thanks anyway BD

But an operation and the innability to work at the moment means moneys sparse at best, anything new hifi stuff I get to play with has to be a juggling act with other kit, hence the swap for amp thing, regards, Mart
