I recently bought an MP3 player from Microdirect but its a pile of trash, I returned it and the replacement is no better.

It keeps cutting out then and then refusing to boot, the problem is MD make it hard when you ask for your money back so I will just get a credit note.

I am not sure what to do as I didn't want to spend a lot, they do seem to sell some A grade ones with a seperate a hardware MP3 encoder rather than software and a better quality flash chip but they cost £50 for a 256MB model.

They have 256MB pen drives with MP3/WMA function for £36 but would they be any better than my last MP3 player?

I didn't want to spend a lot. Is it common for cheaper MP3 players to be very unreliable and unstable?

go on e-bay there are loads that end within minutes with no bids...!!

I a limited to Microdirect due to my credit note. I've go back there anyway to take my existing one back.

Mr Cat that is a well known scam which is catching some people out, quite often the delivery will also be from Boston (thats Boston Lincoinshire not Boston USA). Those scammers are ruining in ebay.

I got a Pendrive IVO 512MB in the end for £50, it dosn't sound quite as good as my old one, but it seems to be stable and the radio actually works well. I won't have any problems with running out of space anyway.

Ipod shuffle.

They are too expensive and don't have an LCD display though. The one I got a Pendirve IVO FR cost me £50 for a 512MB module, the MP3/WMA function sounds good, it has a very good LCD display and the FM radio actually gets a good reception.

It seems well built and very stable as well, unlike the my last one.
