...a colleague is unable to find his car keys...he's back tracked and he thinks that he left them on his desk with some rubbish, the cleaner has then came along moved the rubbish, put in in the bin, emptied then bin and put that in the skip...

Where they in the ignition all day?
I've done something similar, left my keys in the bike locker at work, when I got home I couldn't get in, couldn't find my keys and had to cycle all the way back to get them, I felt such a twit. I guess its a sign of old age.

since lunchtime - so, it would have been about 4 hours...was in the works car park...

due to the parking restraints we have - we normally have to double park and someone rang his mobile to inform him that he had to move his car...hat how he found out!
shame, as the this person could havemoved my colleagues car himself! :D

I, err, rebuilt a PC this weekend as the thing wouldn't power up after I'd installed a printer. My sister neglected to tell me the power strip has SEPERATELY SWITCHED outlets (of course I'd plugged the base unit into the wrong, switched off, socket).

Oh well, good excuse to practice on a PC that's worth less than my shirt (Celeron something, 128 megs ram). D'oh!

Our biology teacher, aka "cough cough", had a habit of losing his keys - they were either in his pocket, his desk drawer, or on his belt. Oh - the one time he lost his normal glasses, he was actually WEARING them ;)
