One of the black plastic covered, clear Wattgate IEC ended types. Not in perfect condition - one of our rabbits nibbled on a small section of the plastic so there's a hole (which has been covered with black electrical insulation tape) and of course no box.

I'm looking for reasonable offers for this 1m powerchord. I'm currently using it but about to order some new chords (as a born-again believer in wires) so it will be available in the new year. I'm thinking of around £35 plus P&P but will listen to reasonable offers. I think in the current line-up this would be the Reference Powerkord at around £115 though it now comes with a more flexible outer insulation so it's a different cable.

However, it's a good power cable in fine working order. Let me know if you're interested.

I also have two 1.5m Zu powerchords which I'm helping a friend to sell. These are US ended, so you'd need an adaptor or US block. He's looking for £100 each plus P&P, or the pair for £200 including P&P. He can supply adaptors if required. Let me know if you're interested in these also.

    Hi John,

I could be interested in the Russ Andrews powercord. Any chance of emailing a photo of it? Also, any idea of postage to France?

I look forward to hearing back.

    Regards,

    Dave

Hi Dave, I'll sort out some photos later in the week if you can wait that long. Postage to France shouldn't be too pricy - the cable is fairly sturdy, and doesn't weigh too much - surface mail to France for 1Kg is around £5, so it should be somewhat less than that! Alternatively, as it's a UK plug, and depending on whether you use a UK powerblock or whatever, I could remove the mains plug saving you a bit of postage (but of course only if you plan to reterminate it anyway).

How bad is the bunnys handywork? Has he just nibbled the outer casing or did he get further than that?

Just a small 1-to-2mm hole to the outer sheathing only (which I covered with black insulating tape). I've been using the chord with no problems; I reckon the rabbit decided black plastic wasn't really the dish du jour...

I've seen so many power cables (fortunately no fancy ones) nibbled or even chewed all the way through that I am convinced rabbits are immune to electricity. Must be the highly insulated furry feet. Or good earthing in their teeth. Which incidentally are razor sharp, as I've discovered on a few occasions when cleaning cages...

    Hi John,
Thanks for the reply. The UK plug is not a problem as I have installed MK sockets on a separate spur for my hi-fi: French sockets are pants - pins too small.
I'm still very interested in this item but would love a photo if at all possible.
    Regards,
    Dave

    Hi Dave,

For assorted festive reasons the earliest I'll have a chance to take a photo will be at the weekend, but I shall get one to you, and you've first refusal on the cable if you're happy with it.

    Hi John,

Fine - I'm happy with that and await the photo.

    Regards from a frosty Dordogne.

I'll offer £35 delivered (UK) assuming it is the old version of the Reference cable and the rabbit hole is the only damage. I'm away over xmas so will pm you when I get back if we have a deal to sort payment.

Monkey, the rabbit hole is the only damage. However, Dave has first shout on it - but I'll keep you up to date.

    Hi John,

Any update on the photo? No pressure - just wondering.

Argh, I completely forgot. I'm out tonight, but in tomorrow night so I will take a photo then. Promise! Actually, unless you're desperate for it I'd like to hang onto it until the new year in any case, as my replacement cables have only just been sent from the states, and I'd be surprised if they turn up any earlier than the end of next week...

Absolutely no problem - in fact, 'twould be sensible to leave it until the new year as the postal service is under pressure at this time of year. When you're ready, put up a photo and I'll give you a reply back.

Have a good Crippy and I hope your new cables come in time for some easy holiday listening.

    regards,

    dave

Yup, me too. Any chance of the photo so that I can take up your offer of first refusal (or not)?

    Regards

Ah, sorry, forgot all about it (see thread about my accident slipping on ice and you'll see that I've been otherwise distracted). OK, I will get the photos taken tonight. My new p/cs have arrived and the RA is now ready to go. I took the black insulation tape off to double check on the actual size of the 'rabbit damage' and for photos, but forgot to actually take them. So, yes, I'll get the photos taken tonight. I can't find the black tape, so I'll leave the damage untaped (or can hunt about to find more black tape or use a different colour... anyway, I digress).

    Thanks for being patient!

    Hi JTC,

    My breath is truly bated.

I'll get back to you as soon as I've seen the photos.

    Dave
