phase invert

you may think i'm crazy for the question but i think your experience may be more accurate than my experience with my mid hifi system and a bad room accoustic.
Please tell me what happen if we change signal polarity when we connect speaker cable to speaker terminals or connect two balance component with two standard of xlr pins?

If both channels are wired backwards then it will sound the same.

If one channel is out of phase with the other then you will have far less bass and imaging will be messed up.

Yup - out of phase sounds weird - sort of echoey, but without an echo (if that makes sense) - almost as though the sound isn't coming from anywhere in particular

Most test disc carry tracks that show the difference between in phase and out of phase.

as previously mention the sound out of phase has no source or precise image.. where as the same track in phase will.

Just to add, are you talking about absolute phase here? Some components reverse phase. Some mixing desks reverse phase. Some speakers reverse phase. Some audiophiles claim subtle differences when employing absolute phase.

If the CD player has a phase reverse then try it and see if you hear a difference.

It is very common for a speaker to reverse the phase of one driver. It helps to counteract the phase issues a lot of crossover circuits introduce I think. Beyond the crossover point it doesn't matter all that much anyway (some would disagree).

I wouldn't do anything, it sounds like your system is fine and complete phase reverse makes no difference.

hi guys
i tested phase invert with my PC Sound card in A/B mode.

inverting phase mean :
-forward and unnatural bass with more uncontroled power
-mid has no focus and it's not coherent
-high is not integrated with mid
-soundstage is not stable behind speakers
-timing is not correct

finaly, phase invert sound fussy and fault with no correct stage.
if you have fullrange it fill your room with lot's of fussy bass energy and break music sweet at complex music.

You don't hear music, you just hear fussy energy
