I am brand new to the the audio world. I looking to buy a mic for recording vocals in the tenor-baritone ranges. I've settled on the Rode NT1. The fifth gen version has an onboard digital converter. Can you get better quality using an external converter? I'm looking at buying the fifth gen and plugging it straight into my computer or buying the NT1 signature which is cheaper and using an external converter. Which option leaves more room for upgrading. If an external converter is best which one should I buy?
